The first PAUL in Kinshasa opened its doors on Avenue de la Justice in Gombe, run by a brand new team we hired and trained here. PAUL has been baking in France since 1889, and from our very first morning the smell of fresh bread was drifting down the street.

One year in, and people were already paying attention. Our plan for growing PAUL in the DRC won the Best Business Plan award, a big moment for a young team that had spent twelve months building everything behind the counter from scratch.

The DRC named Resto Group a Model Investor, and hearing that from the country itself was huge for us. We came here to stay and to build our teams with Congolese talent, so this one really hit home.

Next stop, downtown. Our second PAUL opened on Boulevard du 30 Juin, right in the middle of the city, and a whole new part of Kinshasa got its morning croissant.

PAUL Le Café was something new for us, a smaller and cosier PAUL built around coffee, on Avenue de la Gombe across from the École Française. A quick espresso there has a habit of turning into breakfast.

And we're just getting started. Lume, a lounge taking shape at our villa in Tshatshi, and Paroma, a French and Italian restaurant with pasta made by hand, are both ideas we dreamed up ourselves, and we can't wait to open their doors.

A table to gather around.
A team to grow with.
A partnership to build on.
